About the Arctic Response Technology JIP
The Arctic Oil Spill Response Technology Joint Industry Programme (JIP) was launched in 2012 to conduct targeted research that builds on an already extensive knowledge base to further improve Arctic spill response capabilities.
Over the course of five years, the Arctic Oil Spill Response Joint Industry Programme research focused on expanding industry knowledge of, and capabilities in, Arctic oil spill response in six key areas: dispersants, environmental effects, trajectory modelling, remote sensing, mechanical recovery and in-situ burning.
