A synthesis report of four feasibility studies produced from this effort will contain:
- An operational definition of the problem.
- A description of the existing and potential techniques and equipment that could be most effectively used for the task, including their throughput capacity, efficiency, requirements, size and cost.
- Selection criteria and ranking of the most promising technologies with an indication to whether they are ready for field deployment or could benefit from the additional development.
- For the technologies that require additional development, a description of required effort, its potential cost, and a probability of success in development a fully operational unit.
Based on this report, the JIP will make a decision on the direction of further enhancement of mechanical recovery equipment for Arctic conditions.
